Prompt 1 - Yours and Yours(oul)
The prompt said to draw 'your body' and 'your soul' - both of which I had problems portraying. I have many insecurities. Drawing my physical self - whether it's my irl body or a sona - makes me nauseous, and
my 'soul' is... complicated. So I opted to leave my body as just a suggestion, a shilouette in the front, and my 'soul' in the back, as the focus.
Now, my soul.. well. I have trouble conceptualising myself as a whole person. I feel more like I am fractured into a ton of tiny shards, each a different color, that I flicker between,
and that I attempt to pass off as a whole person. And so, that is exactly what I tried to portray.
On a less personal note: I had a lot of fun experimenting! I don't usually use textures in my paintings, I usually rely on brushes or hand-texturing to achieve texture, but this time
I used a whole bunch of overlay textures from clastic-artistic's free texture packs and I think it worked well! As another random detail,
I have something called visual snow, and the default in my brain whenever I imagine stuff and I don't set a scene is a black noise background,
so I tried to make it look like that as well.
